Employees State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) is an important multi-faceted social system designed to provide socio-economic security to workers and their dependents. This system ensures that workers and their families do not suffer in unseen, unfortunate circumstances.

Registration and Filing of Returns

An employer who is eligible to be registered pursuant to the Employees' State Insurance Act 1948 ("the Act") should do so by performing the following steps:

  • An employer is required to keep all the documents ready for reference.
  • Thereafter, an employer has to file Form 1, which is available in PDF format on the ESIC website. ESIC will verify all the details and issue a 17-digit unique number. This unique number is required for all filings.
  • Every employee will receive an ESI card after the employer submits the form stating all the details. Documents required for registration,
