Packaging License / Registration under Legal Metrology of Medical Devices
Every person or a firm that pre-packs any commodity whether in any bottle, tin, wrapper or otherwise in units suitable for sale, is a Packer. It is mandatory for every packer to apply for packer license under Rule 27 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. As per Rule 6 of the PCR rules, there are certain declarations which shall be mentioned on every package. A packer license under Legal Metrology is granted by the state as well as central government.
